One of my hopes for this blog is that it will not be a vehicle for rumor or propaganda, but instead, will awaken us to legitimate threats to our liberties and our national sovereignty.
There are two posts made so far for which I feel a retraction (or at least a caution) is necessary. The first was my post, "Michelle and the 'Whiteys'" in which I wrote about the building speculation regarding the existence of a videotape of Michelle Obama in the pulpit of her church ranting against white people. The passage of time seems have indicated that these reports were false, fabricated, or at the very least, unsubstantiated.
The second post is "China Drilling Off of Florida." A fellow blogger has shed light on this as potentially being Republican-spun rumor coming specifically from Vice-President Dick Cheney. My friend Ann has provided this link to a story in the Anchorage Daily News which does seem to negate the reality of China drilling for oil in the Straits of Florida.
Much of this blog is my editorial on what I perceive to be threats to our liberty and sovereignty. In a world of ubiquitous and instant media, competing agendas, and the battle between truth and deception, it's often difficult to separate fact from fiction. In posts where I have presented something as fact, and it is later to be shown false, rest assured that I will quickly respond with a retraction.
Thanks to Ann and Couchemouse!
